The Country Store and Gardens, Vashon Island, WA
Welcome to The Country Store and Gardens' plant web site. This unique business was started in 1964. It has been operated by the present owner, Vy Biel, since 1970. Vy moved to the present site in 1980, building an early 1900s style structure. When she moved to the new location on ten acres of land, she went into farming and plant nursery growing.
Since that time a great collection of trees, shrubs and perennials have grown to maturity on the ten-acre site. About 7 years ago we started some selling on the Internet from our site www.tcsag.com, The Country Store and Gardens. Later we purchased a great little local food company, www.goodjam.com, which has a wonderful selection of Northwest food products, from a long-time neighbor.
Michael Lee, owner of Colvos Creek Nursery, is a well known Landscape Designer. As of this winter he is sharing our space with his entire nursery collection. His selection is online at www.colvoscreeknursery.com Both of our nurseries offer unusual plants.
This site is separate from our general store site (www.VashonCountryStore.com) to provide easy access to our full range of plants and garden products.
Nursery
We feature the rare and unusual, along with common varieties of, perennials, vines, trees and shrubs on our 10 acre grounds. Northwest native plants are also available.
Garden Supplies
Our garden supplies include seeds, decor, gardening accessories, tools, books and more. We have a large selection of organic boxed and bagged goods.
Garden Wear
We carry a variety of items for your gardening needs, including rubber footwear as well as raingear, hats for all seasons, fun t-shirts, and overalls. A great place to find that perfect gift.
